Tik, Tok, Will Joe Biden choose a black woman running mate? Tik, Tok

  • Laurie Mitchell How sad, boring, uninspiring.
  • Diana Millikan Trump has my vote again....
  • Jim Tanner Let's hope not. We do know that he is ducked up. Hard to say, but...
  • Jim Tanner Actually spell check got me but you know what I was trying to say
    • Sloan Bashinsky I'm not a Democrat, Jim, I ain't swooning over Joe Biden, I detested Hillary Clinton, I didn't care for Obama, voted for none of them, didn't vote for Trump, nor for either Bush president, nor for Bill Clinton, so I suppose that makes me independent? Trump himself is a VIRUS. The Great Destroyer. The Father of Lies and deceit. Did he ever honor a business deal he made? The amazing thing is tens of millions of America love him like he was sent to them by God. In fact, he is possessed by Lucifer. But his evangelicals, MAGAs and the Republican Moral Majority will never admit it. I keep wondering what kind of karma might or might not go along with voting for Trump, and then staying behind him as he tears America to shreds.
    • Peggy Butler Sloan Bashinsky I agree with you about that monster, however, whether you love him or "ain't' swooning over" Joe Biden, all those who do not vote for him might as well have cast their votes for the toddler-in-chief's getting four more years to further destroy America!
    • Sloan Bashinsky Peggy Butler So far, I think Biden has not designed a campaign attractive to lots of Democrats and Independents, and even Republicans who are fed up with Trump. I think if Biden loses, it's because he did not figure out how to cause people on the fence, so to speak, to vote for him. I told you Obama was bad news, and you didn't believe me. I told you Hillary was bad news, and you didn't believe me. The Dems elected Trump in 2016 by running Hillary. I hope Biden is smarter. I hope he chooses a high-profile black woman to be his running mate, and I hope he chooses her soon. I hope he gets proactive. I hope he causes Sanders' legions to flock to the polls. I think Biden waiting for Trump to self-destruct is likely to self-destruct Biden. Hillary was way ahead in the polls, because a lot of people polled did not want to say they would vote for Trump. They wanted to do it in secret. Reality is very different from Wonderland.
    • Peggy Butler Sloan Bashinsky Remember, Sloan, Hillary won by three million votes. Had it not been for the electoral college that has long ago worn out its usefulness, we would not be in the mess we're in today. Have you read Biden's book, Promise me, Dad? Biden kept a daily journal, apparently, all his adult life. He continued it as vice-president and his book is based upon his experiences as he recalled them in his journal. You might be surprised at all the responsibility this vice-president had that no other in the history of this country had placed upon their shoulders. Most of them were just there to break ties in the votes or to attend funerals and other dignitary duties, but Barack Obama trusted this man highly, especially in foreign affairs. And Biden is a very intelligent man, a good and decent man, a family man with a big heart. I really think you'd be surprised if you read the book. And I think he'll pick the best woman for the job, a woman capable of becoming President one day.
    • Sloan Bashinsky I imagine you were a great nurse, Peggy, but I truly hope Biden doesn't listen to you.

SAN FRANCISCO — President Trump has more than six times as many followers on Twitter as he did when he was elected to office in 2016.

He gained nearly 1.7 million followers in the past month, bringing his total to 80.3 million followers and making him the eighth most followed account on the site, according to social analytics company Social Blade.

Trump has tweeted more than 52,000 times total and tweeted or retweeted more than 50 times on Tuesday and Wednesday. Each received thousands of comments, likes and retweets.

Trump’s massive following and accelerated growth on Twitter, his preferred social media site for posting his thoughts, fly in the face of his claims on Wednesday that social media platforms are trying to “silence conservative voices."

“If Twitter is trying to silence President Trump, they are doing a very bad job at it,” said social media researcher and Clemson University professor Darren Linvill.
    • Sloan Bashinsky The DNC and Hillary's hatchet job on Bernie Sanders in 2016, perhaps with clandestine nods from Obama and Biden?, enraged Sanders' legions and many of them did not vote for Hillary. But as you should have learned in 2016, Hillary's popular vote majority was irrelevant, she lost the Electoral College vote count, and that's all that counts in America in presidential elections: the Electoral College vote count.
    • Sloan Bashinsky I have a black pastor friend who is 100 percent certain Biden will pick a black woman for his running mate. 100 percent certain. I read online the other day that Biden was considering 12, yes, 12, women for his running mate. How do you think blacks will respond at the polls, if Biden chooses Elizabeth Warren or Amy Klobuchar as his running mate, instead of Kamala Harris or Michelle Obama? Do you actually believe blacks will flock to vote for an All-white Dem ticket? If you do, you are mistaken. Many blacks will feel betrayed. They will think the system is intrinsically rigged in favor if white supremacy. And they will be correct.
    • Sloan Bashinsky With Christian-right Mike Pence as his running mate, and his appointments to the U.S. Supreme Court and lower federal judge slots, Trump has sewn up the right side of Christendom in America. Violence in some George Floyd protests scared the bejesus out of many middle-road Americans and swung them to Trump. Trump's base is far more oriented to request absentee ballots. We are in a pandemic. That will depress the number of people standing in lines at voting stations. It remains to be seen if states will be allowed to mail ballots to all registered voters.
    • Sloan Bashinsky And what about the browns and yellows voters? How do you imagine they will feel about an all-white Dem ticket?
    • Sloan Bashinsky How do you think Sanders' legions feel about Biden? Obama? Hillary?
    • Peggy Butler Sloan Bashinsky Hey, far be it from me to deny anyone making millions on their books, since I've barely made a few thousand over these seventeen years. :) You hope he doesn't listen to me about what? I'm confused. By the way, his book is very informative and very well written so he certainly deserves every penny he made on it. I certainly learned more about the Russia/Ukraine horror by reading his book than from all the other sources combined.
    • Sloan Bashinsky The point is, compare Biden's hundreds of thousands of unit book sales to Trump's 81 million tweet audience.
    • Peggy Butler Sloan Bashinsky I do think he'll choose Kamala Harris. Michelle wants nothing to do with being in line for President. She, Barack and their sweet girls served their time with grace despite all the daily and horrifying things said about all of them. Why would Michelle want to subject them to it, again? No way.
    • Sloan Bashinsky I'm looking at it from voter appeal angle, serving your country angle, trying to beat Trump angle. Michelle as VP running mate, promise Sec State to Barack, that's SEXY!!!
  • Peggy Butler Sloan, the bottom line is that if Sanders' supporters and those who like you who simply don't like the man, do not vote for Biden, you'll all guarantee four more years of this insanity. Do any of you really want that? Honestly? That's the only question that anyone needs to answer before November. And not voting at all will do the same.
  • Peggy Butler I need to crash before Biden and Obama come on at 5:15. Have a nice day, Sloan. it's nice having these conversations with you. We both stand our ground, but neither of us gets crazy angry with the other. LOL Stay safe!
