broad spectrum coronavirus rant by 77-year-old American who belongs to no political party

This 77-year-old Independent never got the older bad flus. Never felt threatened by those flus. Did not worry for my loved ones' safety. I feel threatened by the coronavirus. I fear what it might do to my loved ones. I worry it can destroy the economic and social fabric of America. I do not think I am paranoid.

Lots of people think I'm a flaming liberal. I viewed George W. Bush, John Kerry, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump as very bad news and didn’t vote for any of them. I think Democrats and Republicans do a lot of finger pointing and very little looking at their own personal inventory.

I see Republicans making good points about the Obama administration's shortcomings, which left America unprepared for something like the coronavirus. However, I think Republicans leave a lot on the table by laying ALL THE BLAME on the Democrats, who did not start two very costly and destructive Middle Eastern wars that lined, and still line, a lot of rich, white, mostly Republican men's pockets. The money U.S. citizens coughed up to wage those two wars could have funded several coronavirus relief packages passed by Congress.

Democrats did not give U.S. corporations U.S. Constitution rights. Democrats did not make America a welfare state for U.S. corporations subsidized by U.S. citizens. Democrats did not ask Russia to help them win the White House in 2016. Democrats did not call the coronavirus threat to Americans a hoax. Democrats did not dismantle the U.S. agency responsible for tracking and defending against epidemics and pandemics.

American corporations, run mostly by rich white Republican men, outsource production to cheap labor communist China. Republicans blame that on American labor unions and the Democrats. Republicans call Bernie Sanders a communist, ignoring their own trading with communist China and Ivanka Trump outsourced her apparel company’s product line to communist China and her president father’s tariffs on communist China products did not affect her product line.

During Senate proceedings on the coronavirus relief package, President Trump held out to the bitter end to include financial relief for foreign cruise ship companies, which do not pay American taxes or abide by American labor laws. Some rich, white, mostly Republican men had offshore financial interests in those cruise ship companies.

I wanted to strangle Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats for putting an abortion funding rider on the House's coronavirus relief package.

Republicans and Democrats don't seem to get, if you buy something, you have to pay for it. If you try to get around that by borrowing money you don't intend to pay back, by printing more money, or by saying a lot of debt is necessary, that's a pyramid scheme.

Jesus said in the Gospels to first take the beam out of your own eye and then you will see clearly enough to help your brother remove the speck from his eye. Maybe Christian Republicans and Democrats should take that advice to heart?

As for dealing with the coronavirus threat, there is a saying in Taoism, which was a major spiritual movement in old China: "Embrace Tiger, return to mountain." The Tiger is fierce, the mountain is Tao, God, whatever.

On March 19, 2020, I asked at this blog, whether to embrace the tiger (the coronavirus) and let it run its course and kill a lot of elders and people with chronic medical problems, such as myself, who cost America the most money to keep up, or resist the tiger by locking down America and perhaps destroying its economic and social fabric?

That's the awful decision President Trump, alone, had to make, in my opinion, and it looks to me he tried to do it both ways. How will that hybrid turn out? We’ll see, as President Trump is known to say. I don't envy him. He was so sure he would make America great again, and then fate dealt him an entirely different hand. He scored himself a ten. Time gives the final score.

We should hope malaria drugs are effective for people infected with the coronavirus. We should hope a cheap, effective vaccine is soon generally available to protect uninfected people. We should hope the virus will hibernate during hot summer weather. We should not behave recklessly. We should not pack churches, or any place. We should not rudely and selfishly go places or travel distances, unless absolutely necessary. We should not get in other people's faces. We should hope and pray essential service and product providers are able to keep providing.

As for China, this lawyer who became a mystic says, if President Trump had a close relationship with God, or extrasensory perception, or street sense and an open mind, or was educated in biowarfare programs, he would know the coronavirus was developed in a China bio-lab, which also was to make a vaccine, but something intervened before the virus was available, because China could not be allowed to have that kind of power to hold the rest of the world hostage.

Not likely that can be proved in a human tribunal. However, very correctly, China owes the rest of the world reparations because of how it misled the world about the extent of the coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan.

President Trump and Congress could cancel America's $trillion-plus debt to China.

President Trump and Congress could tell American corporations outsourcing their production to China, to bring those factories back to America, or be nationalized and President Trump and Congress do it.

President Trump and Congress could bring China before the World Court, seeking reparations for crimes against Chinese, Americans and humanity arising from China not being honest about how the coronavirus initially progressed in China, and still progresses there.

Are President Trump and Congress strong enough to do those things? Are they willing to reveal and then shut down America’s bioweapon labs?

We’ll see.

Will Americans tempt God by packing churches Easter Sunday?

I dreamed last night that my north Georgia friend D and I got married. I'm sure that was not on his, nor his wife's, wish list, nor on mine. So, what did the dream mean? I started guessing.

Then, I noticed in in my Apple News an article from yesterday's Los Angeles Times about a church in Washington state:

60 people came to a choir practice. Now dozens have COVID-19 and 2 are dead.
The deadly outbreak among members of a choir has stunned health officials, who have concluded that the virus was almost certainly transmitted through the air from one or more people without symptoms.

Read in Los Angeles Times:

I opened the link and read the article. I wondered if what happened in that Washington church had caused President Trump yesterday to extend from Easter to the end of April, reopening America?

I wondered what might be said by God to that choir director and his minister in the afterlife? Would God ask them why they went ahead with the choir rehearsal knowing the coronavirus was loose in America? Would they answer, President Trump had told us there wasn't much to the virus? We trusted You to protect us?

I thought back to when I spent a good bit of time in D's area of north Georgia, and D introduced me to L, a minister of a local church, where I began attending Sunday school and morning services. L and I became friends. He was very concerned D did not attend church, the devil would surely get him. I said D met with God away from church. L did not seem to understand. I told D about that, and he thanked me for what I had told L.

That conversation with L  happened a number of times. I finally told L that I didn't know when I was ever not in church. God was everywhere. Everything I did affected my relationship with God. Church was not necessary, but could be helpful. L still did not seem to understand me. Those conversations continued until finally I asked L, if the devil wanted to hide where nobody would ever think to look, where would that be? L said he did not know where that would be. I told D about that and he thanked me.

I wondered if that was the meaning of my dream this morning? D and I are married in the sense that neither of us believe it is necessary to attend church to meet with God.

I thought again about President Trump saying Americans will pack churches on Easter Sunday. I had read and heard of churches switching to online services, and of other churches having regular services.

I thought of a black Alabama minister friend, who really does not like and cannot be swayed President Trump, who said he trusts God, the time of his birth and death are fixed, and if he catches the coronavirus and it kills him, then that's how it's supposed to be. I said, God helps those who helps themselves. He asked me where that is said in the Bible? I said in many places where people did something dumb or reckless and it turned out poorly for them. I later thought I should have said not to tempt God.

I thought about cruise ships at sea being denied permission to dock, because they carry passengers infected with the coronavirus. I wondered why those cruise ships had continued operating after a cruise ship headed for San Diego was discovered to be carrying passengers infected with the coronavirus and that ship was interdicted by the U.S. Government? I wondered why the passengers on the now stranded at sea cruise ships got onto those ships knowing of the pandemic and what had happened to the San Diego-bound cruise ship?

I wondered if Americans will temp God and pack churches on Good Friday and Easter Sunday, because they know that's what President Trump expects or they believe God demands it?

I wondered if the FDA approving two untested (for coronavirus treatment) antimalarial drugs yesterday will encourage Americans to pack churches on Easter Sunday, and generally?

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Sunday issued an emergency-use authorization for a pair of anti-malaria drugs as health officials work to combat the rapid spread of the novel coronavirus.
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) said in a statement that the authorization would allow 30 million doses of hydroxychloroquine sulfate and 1 million doses of chloroquine phosphate to be donated to the Strategic National Stockpile. The doses of hydroxychloroquine sulfate were donated by Sandoz, while the chloroquine phosphate was developed by Bayer Pharmaceuticals.
The products will be "distributed and prescribed by doctors to hospitalized teen and adult patients with COVID-19, as appropriate, when a clinical trial is not available or feasible," HHS said.
President Trump has repeatedly touted the anti-malaria drugs as a possible coronavirus "game changer," despite warnings from health officials that not enough is known about their effects on COVID-19. Dr. Anthony Fauci, the government’s top infectious disease expert, said during a press briefing earlier this month that much of what is known about the drug is based on "anecdotal reports."
While I truly hope those anti-malarial drugs will be effective against the coronavirus, I just as truly hope Americans and their ministers will consider the Washington church's experience and not tempt God by packing churches on Good Friday and Easter Sunday, nor any other day during this unprecedented pandemic. Those, or any effective drugs, should be used to treat infected people, not encourage well people to risk becoming infected.

Is President Trump a virus?

Yesterday's President Trump told Americans to commit suicide on Easter, is he today's Jim Jones? post at this blog contained a insurgent Facebook thread started by a retired nurse, who used to live in Key West and moved across the tracks from President Trump's hotel and golf resort in southeast Florida, where she can afford the rent. Below are a range of juicy comments later posted in that Facebook thread.

  • Robert Silver i have never agreed with plump, but in the case of gm--he's right!

  • Sloan Bashinsky Texas Lt. Governor says old Americans should be willing to die to save the economy https://news.yahoo.com/fox-news-brit-hume-entirely...

Fox News’ Brit Hume: It’s ‘Entirely Reasonable’ the Elderly Would Want to Die to Save Economy

    • Peggy Butler Never, but if it comes to dying to save the younger generation from dying and from saving our priceless doctors and nurses from dying, yes, then I'd be willing to die - but not for an economy that would come back quite quickly under the right president.

    • Sloan Bashinsky Peggy Butler I imagine Hume assumes the right president is Trump, and old people should be willing to lay down their lives now to avoid a potential 1929 crash scenario.

For example, America cannot afford the coronavirus relief packages, and unless th
e economy and the stock and bond markets bounce back soon, and people get back to work, more relief packages will be required. Tax revenues fall more, federal programs have to be cut and/or America prints more money and/or borrows from its citizens, domestic and foreign companies and countries until the pyramid gig is up and 1929 redo happens. But this time perhaps with considerable violence, especially in cities. Martial law is required. Militias and the rich retreat to their doomsday fortresses.

If Trump gets his Easter wish, something he is not expecting in his wildest dreams might happen. The virus accelerates and ravages America stem to stern, top to bottom. Same dystopian outcome, or worse. Trump gets the virus, or he doesn't. He is re-elected, or he isn't. There are elections, or their aren't. He goes down in history as the president on whose watch America collapsed into rubble, as he hollered and tweeted it was all China's Obama's and those damn liberals and their fake news media's fault!!!

I can imagine a parallel universe where countries use their military to round up anyone over 60 and apply the final solution. Except, that would decapitate the American government, including President Trump. I wonder, therefore, why Hume did not call for Trump to lead t he charge of old Americans dying for their country?

    • Lenore Troia Peggy Butler Thank you Peggy.

    • Lenore Troia Sloan Bashinsky You nailed it Sloan! So terrifying!

    • Peggy Butler Lenore Troia You're welcome, Lenore!

    • Sloan Bashinsky First, I hope all of you will take time time to watch the podcast interview below of the international human rights lawyer, Dr. Francis Boyle, who authored the BioWeapons Act, unanimously passed by Congress. He says he is blackballed by the U.S. Government and national and international news media; China, CDE, WHO, U.S. government and other national governments are in cahoots; they know the truth about the coronavirus, for which a vaccine has been patented; they all are in bioweapons development. He's a hoot to listen to and seems to have zero fear of being killed for shooting off his mouth.

As for us older people falling on our on swords ..
I told a woman neighbor friend yesterday afternoon, as we sat on different sidewalk benches near where we live and commisserated our shut-in lives, that what coronavirus virus has revealed what is wrong, and has made Bernie Sanders a prophet.

From an NPR article that showed up in my Apple News today:
“His allies and supporters are convinced that, as the crisis has unfolded and the country suffers from record unemployment, the issues that the Vermont senator has long touted, like income inequality and "Medicare for All," will force the country to have a reckoning about its financial and healthcare systems. In other words, they're convinced the crisis is resuscitating Sanders' agenda.

"The reality that so many people have healthcare attached to their jobs and how vulnerable that makes them is showing its face right now," said Ana Maria Archila, the co-executive director of the Center for Popular Democracy, a coalition of progressive groups that endorsed Sanders. "I think many of his ideas, which were deemed radical just a few months ago, are now being promoted."

“As evidence, supporters of Sanders point to recent bills in Congress that include cash payments to individuals, expanded unemployment and paid sick time — all ideas, they note, that the senator has long championed.”.

I read last night yet another report that the virus does not like heat, which causes it to chemically break down, I wondered, and hoped, that as summer approaches, the virus will begin to wane and will go dormant, or, better, break down and cease to exist when day temperatures are in the high nineties. Probably not very scientific, but then, I'm convinced the virus was manufactured in China, which now races to create a vaccine, which will make China the world hero and very rich. So, please let there be a very hot summer.

Been watching how our old home Key West and the Florida Keys are dealing with the corona virus. Our friends, Key West Mayor Teri Johnston and Monroe County Mayor Heather Carruthers, have shut down paradise. Restaurants and bars are take-out only. Hotels, motels, etc., ordered closed. Tourists ordered to leave, now gone. Most public parks closed. Social distancing required. KWPD, Sheriff and State Attorney enforcing what Code Enforcement cannot bring to heel. Sheriff has deputies stationed at top of US 1 and Card Sound Road turning away all but essential service and product providers, and Florida Keys residents, with ID, Grocery stores generally well-stocked, according to mutual friends of ours in Key West. Large gatherings prohibited, except churches not under that order. Wonder how full they will be on Easter?

If the virus goes viral in Key West and the Keys, it will be like a giant super-contagious petri dish. The small hospitals will be overwhelmed. I guess half the adults down there are old people. I bet even the old Republicans aren't eager to fall on their swords for President Trump.

Hillary Clinton carried Key West, in 2016, and Donald Trump carried the rest of the Florida Keys. If there are national elections this year, it will be interesting to see how the votes fall in paradise. Maybe how Trump fares in Key West and the Florida Keys will reflect how he does in the rest of Florida, where there are millions of old people not willing to fall on their swords for him. If Trump loses Florida, he probably loses the election and can retire to his dacha in Russia, his palace in Saudi Arabia, or his golf resort on the other side of the tracks from where you struggle just to get by, Peggy.

My shut-in neighbor friend said Trump needs to catch the coronavirus and suffer a long time.

  • Sloan Bashinsky Watch this YouTube of a Harvard international lawyer bioweapon expert talking about coronavirus being made in Wuhun bioweapon lab that probably got leaked inadvertently

Dr Francis Boyle Creator Of BioWeapons Act on if Covid-19 Coronavirus Is Biological Warfare Weapon
Dr Francis Boyle Creator Of BioWeapons Act on if Covid-19…
Dr Francis Boyle Creator Of BioWeapons Act on if Covid-19 Coronavirus Is Biological Warfare Weapon

    • Peggy Butler Okay, at one time I entertained such a thought, however, why make a biological weapon that can destroy your own people? If it was an accident that's one thing but if not, it makes no sense. This virus is no respecter of persons, for sure, since it hits those who would be king, wives of leaders of countries, movie stars, sports stars, - no one is exempt.
    • Sloan Bashinsky China developed the vaccine for populations control, and was developing a vaccine, too, but something happened before the vaccine was available, and here we are. If China had had both the virus and the vaccine, it could have held the world hostage. That could not be allowed to happen. Something science does not recognize intervened. Here we are.

China's population-control designer virus was supposed to have vaccine
China's population-control designer virus was supposed to have…

Retired nurse Peggy "liked" my last comment.
