Peggy Butler Well, as much as he's finally finally let go of the money that he should have used two months ago, at the latest, with the Defense Production Act, I want people building these vents who know what in the heck they're doing. You can't go from putting parts on an automobile to building an intricate thing like a ventilator overnight. As always, he's way late on this one! Personally? I'd rather the people who build medical devices, namely vents, continue to build them but I know he wouldn't want that. He'd rather throw his weight around than resort to the experts doing an expert job!

For example, America cannot afford the coronavirus relief packages, and unless the economy and the stock and bond markets bounce back soon, and people get back to work, more relief packages will be required. Tax revenues fall more, federal programs have to be cut and/or America prints more money and/or borrows from its citizens, domestic and foreign companies and countries until the pyramid gig is up and 1929 redo happens. But this time perhaps with considerable violence, especially in cities. Martial law is required. Militias and the rich retreat to their doomsday fortresses.
If Trump gets his Easter wish, something he is not expecting in his wildest dreams might happen. The virus accelerates and ravages America stem to stern, top to bottom. Same dystopian outcome, or worse. Trump gets the virus, or he doesn't. He is re-elected, or he isn't. There are elections, or their aren't. He goes down in history as the president on whose watch America collapsed into rubble, as he hollered and tweeted it was all China's Obama's and those damn liberals and their fake news media's fault!!!
I can imagine a parallel universe where countries use their military to round up anyone over 60 and apply the final solution. Except, that would decapitate the American government, including President Trump. I wonder, therefore,why Hume did not call for Trump to lead t he charge of old Americans dying for their country?

I told a woman neighbor friend yesterday afternoon, as we sat on different sidewalk benches near where we live and commisserated our shut-in lives, that what coronavirus virus has revealed what is wrong, and has made Bernie Sanders a prophet.
From an NPR article that showed up in my Apple News today:
“His allies and supporters are convinced that, as the crisis has unfolded and the country suffers from record unemployment, the issues that the Vermont senator has long touted, like income inequality and "Medicare for All," will force the country to have a reckoning about its financial and healthcare systems. In other words, they're convinced the crisis is resuscitating Sanders' agenda.
"The reality that so many people have healthcare attached to their jobs and how vulnerable that makes them is showing its face right now," said Ana Maria Archila, the co-executive director of the Center for Popular Democracy, a coalition of progressive groups that endorsed Sanders. "I think many of his ideas, which were deemed radical just a few months ago, are now being promoted."

I read last night yet another report that the virus does not like heat, which causes it to chemically break down, I wondered, and hoped, that as summer approaches, the virus will begin to wane and will go dormant, or, better, break down and cease to exist when day temperatures are in the high nineties. Probably not very scientific, but then, I'm convinced the virus was manufactured in China, which now races to create a vaccine, which will make China the world hero and very rich. So, please let there be a very hot summer.
Been watching how our old home Key West and the Florida Keys are dealing with the corona virus. Our friends, Key West Mayor Teri Johnston and Monroe County Mayor Heather Carruthers, have shut down paradise. Restaurants and bars are take-out only. Hotels, motels, etc., ordered closed. Tourists ordered to leave, now gone. Most public parks closed. Social distancing required. KWPD, Sheriff and State Attorney enforcing what Code Enforcement cannot bring to heel. Sheriff has deputies stationed at top of US 1 and Card Sound Road turning away all but essential service and product providers, and Florida Keys residents, with ID, Grocery stores generally well-stocked, according to mutual friends of ours in Key West. Large gatherings prohibited, except churches not under that order. Wonder how full they will be on Easter?
If the virus goes viral in Key West and the Keys, it will be like a giant super-contagious petri dish. The small hospitals will be overwhelmed. I guess half the adults down there are old people. I bet even the old Republicans aren't eager to fall on their swords for President Trump.
Hillary Clinton carried Key West, in 2016, and Donald Trump carried the rest of the Florida Keys. If there are national elections this year, it will be interesting to see how the votes fall in paradise. Maybe how Trump fares in Key West and the Florida Keys will reflect how he does in the rest of Florida, where there are millions of old people not willing to fall on their swords for him. If Trump loses Florida, he probably loses the election and can retire to his dacha in Russia, his palace in Saudi Arabia, or his golf resort on the other side of the tracks from where you struggle just to get by, Peggy.
My shut-in neighbor friend said Trump needs to catch the coronavirus and suffer a long time.

If it was an accident that's one thing but if not, it makes no sense. This virus is no respecter of persons, for sure, since it hits those who would be king, wives of leaders of countries, movie stars, sports stars, - no one is exempt.- Sloan Bashinsky China developed the vaccine for populations control, and was developing a vaccine, too, but something happened before the vaccine was available, and here we are. If China had had both the virus and the vaccine, it could have held the world hostage. That could not be allowed to happen. Something science does not recognize intervened. Here we are.
