Cluster B NPD goat nation: America

A south Alabama amiga put a bell-ringer on Facebook yesterday:
I swear to you my Trump supporting MIL said the very same thing in discussion when my children were in diapers. "Most are schizophrenic and do not want to be institutionalized."
I'll never forget trying to work the mental gymnastic on making that statement logical.

Comments
  • Amirah Rabiyah I guess he likes living that way
  • Shelley Ingram Well, I've met a few that did enjoy their street, seriously, but of course the other 99% of homeless would disagree with 45's statement as well as I! The prison systems are the new mental institutions.
    • Elizabeth Hinds Davis Not to mention, we do not ask people who are unable to care for themselves if they wish to be safely housed. We just do so.
    • Shelley Ingram Actually, one has to go through the court system to do that. People do have the right to live as they please.
    • Elizabeth Hinds Davis Exactly we do not have proper housing and care so most everyone is just being tossed out into the streets and determined capable even when evidence show they are not, it's absolute bullshit.
  • Joshua Abell What people "like" depends on what their options are. There's a grain of truth to it, that for some, especially with severe mental health issues, homelessness can seem like the least worst option. Dealing with society can be awful. That doesn't mean they don't need help. At the very least, they need better options
  • Amy Dagle Yeah - that's the kind of shit they meant when they talked about compassionate conservatism
  • Annie McDonald I have met 1 person who was homeless by choice...avoiding taxes. But he worked for every scrap of food or dollar, and refused any of it if he couldn't earn his way. He wasn't mentally ill. My uncle was schizophrenic. He would be institutionalized while medication stabilized. They would release him from hospital, but without a place to stay (he was violent often, his mom couldn't have him around) he was literally hospital/homeless for 40 years before he was old enough to have Medicare cover a care facility that could monitor his medications. After that? He was a very sweet individual, whom I am glad to have gotten to spend time with once before he passed. But i can definitively say that he was NOT happy to be on the street.
  • Sloan Bashinsky I was homeless (lived on the streets and in shelters) on and off for several years in Key West and elsewhere. Lots of people thought I was insane, because I spoke freely of angels having abducted and trained and led and bossed and corrected me. I wondered if my critics were crazy,, because it was really happening, and that made them out of touch with reality, which is the definition of insanity ðŸ˜Ž I was accused of faking being poor, or being homeless to write a book about homeless people. Of being a mainstream spy. More out of touch with reality carrying on.

That cosmic drama aside, I never met one homeless person who liked being homeless. I suppose there are a few such homeless people, though. Most of the homeless people I got to know, some more than others, probably 1,000 in all, were addicts. Booze, mostly, but also street drugs in some cases. More lately, spice. Most of them also were mentally disturbed. Their meds didn't work properly when they were using booze and other street drugs. If they took their meds. Many did not like the side effects of their meds, and did not take them for that reason. The side affects were very real. I'd love to see all psychiatrists required to take full courses for months of the psych meds they proscribe.

Most of the homeless people were not dangerous. Some of them were obnoxious. Most of them simply wanted to be left alone. They liked handouts. Spare change, clothes, a boxed meal, a blanket, shoes, a bicycle. They are a subspecies of the much larger varigated American tribe, and I think their numbers will grow over the years, because they mirror the core ails in America. Maybe 20 percent of street people are war vets with PTSD.

But then, Jesus and his followers were street people.
  • Sloan Bashinsky I wonder how it would go, if every psychiatrist in America was suddenly seized by the Holy Spirit and directed to publish online, immediately, their dead honest diagnoses of Donald Trump's state of mind.
    • Elizabeth Hinds Davis Oh man, he's textbook Cluster B.
    • Elizabeth Hinds Davis Don't make me pick all the comorbidity, obviously the NPD is what drives.
    • Sloan Bashinsky He definitely is head over heels in love with himself.
    • Elizabeth Hinds Davis A trait in and of itself I do not find off putting if understandable.
    • Bob Connole Holy Spirit, very vute of you but crazy
    • Sloan Bashinsky Bob Connole Well, I could not imagine the Devil making all the psychiatrists diagnose Trump.
    • Sloan Bashinsky Elizabeth Hinds Davis Well, we are not on the same page there, Liza. Trump reminds of the nice lady in Snow White looking in the mirror on the wall, declaring himself the fairest of them all. NPD. No warts. No shit that stinks. Perfect in every way.
    • Sloan Bashinsky Elizabeth Hinds Davis Something you wrote and shared with me seems to befit him:
      “Pigs in mud”

All want the security of the well fed pig.
      Horror at the baseness unrecognized.
A lifetime spent in shirt stuffing.
      And pen comparison.
Is truth more palatable when honeyed?
Is a stark soulscape less so with the eyes of Monet?
May my affectations always be known and understood.
    • Sloan Bashinsky Bob Connole
Meanwhile, this bell-ringer  comes to mind anytime I see or hear a pious someone slam homeless people in this way:

      From Matthew 25:31–46:

"But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory. Before him all the nations will be gathered, and he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will tell those on his right hand, ‘Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger, and you took me in. I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you visited me. I was in prison, and you came to me.’

“Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or thirsty, and give you a drink? When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you? When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?’

“The King will answer them, ‘Most certainly I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ Then he will say also to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels; for I was hungry, and you didn’t give me food to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink; I was a stranger, and you didn’t take me in; naked, and you didn’t clothe me; sick, and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’

“Then they will also answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and didn’t help you?’

“Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Most certainly I tell you, because you didn’t do it to one of the least of these, you didn’t do it to me.’ These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
    • Sloan Bashinsky Elizabeth Hinds Davis Meanwhile, I can't help but wonder if your splendid textbook Cluster B NPD-driven diagnosis of Trump diagnoses the people who voted for him as well:

Cluster B personality disorders. Cluster B personality disorders are characteriz
ed by dramatic, overly emotional or unpredictable thinking or behavior. They include antisocial personality disorder, borderline personality disorder, histrionic personality disorder and narcissistic personality disorder (NPD).

Birds of a feather are making America great again?
    • Elizabeth Hinds Davis Sloan Bashinsky That's what always comes to mind "The least of".
    • Elizabeth Hinds Davis Sloan Bashinsky Simply put, absolutely yes. Yes yes.

I'm staring in disbelief that I skimmed and missed "Liza". Oh no, you did not. BASHINSKY! I shall find a way to repay this, see if I don't.
Liza! Now you find that I secretly take myself utterly seriously and the air of detachment over egoic issues is naught but a thin veneer, a badly played ruse, at best.
*crumpling paper sounds*
Back to the drawing board, we've found a flaw. This one is NIGH sensitive about her family name of Elizabeth. Prissy! lol
Joann is my first name, Elizabeth what I was called as Joann Elizabeth was my Great Aunt's name and every generation had Elizabeth as middle name for a very long time. 7 generations, actually.
Please never shorten it, the females I descend from descend on me about it like you would not believe. Well, you would.

Heh, I used Liza because I was feeling a little devilish and I recalled you once telling me Eliz was okay, but never Liza. I am so very sorry to see I unwittingly unleashed on you a very long family tree with roots I suppose spring from the core of the planet beneath your Southern Belle antiquities.

You know me. I got to be true.
